With a four millimeter heel to toe offset, the Kinvara 5 will retain the fan base of runners that like more low profile shoes. The outsole from the four to the five appears to be similar, though I do notice that the flex grooves on the five are cut in a little deeper. This deeper cut, in my belief, will give the Kinvara 5 more flexibility as the feet move through the gait cycle. The triangle pattern under the forefoot is also similar from the four to the five, though there is a slightly longer stretch of carbon rubber included in the five.
Are you a fan of the Kinvara? What was your favorite version? Did you like the Kinvara 4, or have you been eagerly waiting for the five to hit the store? How many total miles did the shoe provide you before it finally broke down?
